If you have been using WordPress for several years, you might have noticed how easy it was to change the number of posts in the “Recent Posts”/”Latest Posts” widget. The latest version of WordPress calls everything a block, and the old “Recent Posts” widget is now a legacy widget. So, if you want to increase or decrease the number of posts in the “Recent posts” block (earlier known as the “Recent Posts” widget), you cannot use the old approach. The new approach is also simple and easy, but it’s different than the old approach.
In this post, I will show how to change the number of posts in the “Recent Posts”/”Latest Posts” block (widget).
Step1: Log into your WordPress installation as admin and go to the dashboard.
Step 2: Go to Appearance -> Widgets. Select the widget where you have added the “Recent posts” block (e.g., sidebar).
Step 3: In the widget, select the “Recent Posts” block, and it will show you the following options on the right side of the screen.
Step 4: Use the “Number of items” slider at the bottom to increase or decrease the number of posts in the “Recent Posts”/”Latest Posts” widget (block).
That’s all. Your WordPress installation will now show the increased/decreased number of items.
